Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period is October 15–December 7

Medicare: Coverage and plans

• Once you have Medicare with Part A (Hospital) and Part B (Medical) you qualify for a Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C) with drug coverage (Part D).
• Most Medicare Advantage Plans are HMOs (you need referrals to see specialists) and PPOs (you don’t need referrals to see specialists).
• The coverage includes visits to primary doctors, specialists, hospitalization, therapies, laboratories, medical equipment, and preventive exams.
